Can a family member be present during the signing?
Yes, and most of the time I'd encourage it. For estate documents and healthcare directives in particular, having an adult child or trusted family member there often makes the process less stressful for the signer. The family member cannot serve as a witness if they're named in the document, but they're welcome to sit at the table.
What if my spouse is in memory care or assisted living?
I can come to a memory care unit, assisted living apartment, or skilled nursing facility within Sun City Georgetown or nearby. The signer has to be able to demonstrate understanding of what they're signing. That's a Texas requirement, not mine. So we'll usually have a brief, gentle conversation before we begin. If awareness is a concern, please mention that when you call and we'll talk through it.
Do you witness will signings?
Yes. Texas wills generally need two competent witnesses (in addition to the notary) for the self-proving affidavit. I can bring witnesses when asked, or you can arrange your own. Neighbors and family work as long as they aren't beneficiaries. Tell me what you need when you book.
How does this work with my title company for a refi?
If your lender or title company is sending me the package directly, they have my contact information. I'm NNA-certified and on most signing-agent platforms. I read the full package the night before, confirm the time with you, and arrive with everything. After the signing, I scan and ship back the same day. If you'd rather coordinate it yourself, that's fine too.
Can you bring a printer? My documents are emailed to me.
Yes, I can print up to 30 pages on letter or legal paper at no extra cost when I'm already coming for an appointment. Send the PDFs to my email a few hours ahead and I'll bring them printed.
What's the actual fee for a Sun City visit?
Standard mobile visit is $75 (up to three notarizations, travel included). Estate bundle is $200 for the full POA, healthcare directive, HIPAA, will-witnessing package. Refi signings are $125. No surprise add-ons. If your situation is unusual, I'll quote it before I drive over, not after.
